Highlighting Black Sun's movement towards political legitimization, Black Sun held an intragovernmental assembly and exposition of lawmakers and law enforcement in Asation, from Y19 D46 to Y19 D49. The conference aimed to supply policy makers and members of law enforcement with insights into criminal psychology, in addition to providing the tools necessary for their application. Political analysts stated that the convention signified another major step towards making reparations for the government's criminal roots.
The first two days of the convention featured panels on crime prevention, criminal justice reform, and the protection of sentient rights, all under the general umbrella of combating organized crime. The panels were well attended, though some saw higher interest. Dr. Janeth Svung, a renown Veragi policy maker, spoke on the creation of legal frameworks which detailed concrete and enforceable criminal offenses, in addition to the adoption of core laws which constructed the basis of cooperation across planetary governments, with a particular focus on extradition laws. Jett Surik, DPA, lectured on various typologies of modern forms of slavery, discussing which populations are most vulnerable to exploitation, government policies and strategies which allow for sentient trafficking, and the protections necessary for policy interventions. The most popular panel was presented on the second day of the assembly: long-time Blade of the Prince Karesh Zarkot promoted the training and assistance needed for building, maintaining, and upgrading the necessary arms capacities of governmental authorities.
The final two days broke from discussion, and instead opened the convention floor to industry showcases. The first public demonstration of the Hover Tank B-1 took place at the assembly, allowing law enforcement to see the new internal gunner stations, turret movement, and battlefield arrays first hand. Also featured was a new, sleeker, Viper model, whose expansive redesign project reached its initial state of operation in late Year 17. Pilots of the original Viper model complained of rough takeoffs which disoriented them at crucial early moments of flight. Black Sun engineers found several small issues which caused the problem, and recommended several fixes, leading to the new more svelte Viper Mark II model. As with the Hover Tank B-1, this was the first public showing of the improved model.
Thousands of dedicated professionals from Black Sun and the planetary governments which they oversee attended. Additionally, representatives from the Tion Hegemony visited the assembly to see first hand the steps being taken by Black Sun to combat organized crime, presenting their own talk on regional governance. Manufacturers saw massive orders from planetary governments, while policy makers began the networking and brainstorming necessary to begin real legislative change. Of his home system, Dr Svung stated, "Multiple government officials in Revyia have reached out to me on how to implement the criminal justice reform I described in my talk. We will be taking the earliest possible opportunity to meet with additional lawmakers, policymakers, and administration in Veragi system to hammer out specific legislation."
Joshua Chamberlain to re-enter the Galactic Civil War; this time alongside the Galactic Alliance
Earlier this week, the Central Krath Recruitment Office had received a request of citizenship signed by one Joshua Chamberlain, the same man whose curriculum vitae contains such important terms as COMPNOR, Task Force Delta and the Kashyyk Massacre, making him one of the most prominent and controversial men in the Galaxy. Initially disregarding the application as a practical joke carried out by an anonymous individual, the CKRO soon discovered, that the man behind it and his intention were both genuine, and that Mr. Chamberlain was in fact interested in making his return to the frontlines. After receiving a response, Mr. Chamberlain was put through the motions of becoming a certified citizen of Krath, although with far more extensive background checks thanks to his past ties to the Empire.
A master tactician with a soft side
Indeed, Joshua Chamberlainâs life story would make for a very interesting read (although he isnât planning on publishing an autobiography just yet). Born on Obroa-skai, he soon abandoned his academic pursuits thanks to his newfound passion for the military, eventually ending up as one of the many recruits of the Imperial Army. There he had shown his natural affinity for martial leadership, expressing great talent in tactics and operative problem solving, as well as a strong sense of humanity and compassion.
After the tumultuous events surrounding the death of Emperor Charon, the young officer was granted a commanding position, reaching the rank of Colonel quickly. He was soon reassigned to a brand new unit tasked with eliminating the enemies of the Empire, both internal and external: Task Force Delta. After Deltaâs assimilation into the COMPNOR, Chamberlain was relieved of his leadership position, albeit temporarily. The fervor and skill exhibited by the officer eventually led to him being appointed as de facto commander of the Commission. It would seem that there was nothing that could stop Mr. Chamberlainâs meteoric rise in the ranks. But that was soon to change.
On Year 6 Day 356, Task Force Delta was ordered to carry out the most infamous operation in the Empireâs recent history: the Kashyyk Massacre. As effective commander of the Task Force, Chamberlain had to follow the orders set by Emperor Bonias, ordering the strike on the native Wookiee population to commence. Despite it being heralded as a victory for the Empire, Chamberlain couldnât bring himself to celebrate alongside his peers. This later formed a rift between the esteemed Brigadier General and the Empire as a whole, leading to his resignation and departure from Imperial space.
Back into the fight
Mr. Chamberlain had gone under the wing of the Invid Order, a neutral group, in order to escape the spotlight that had been aimed at him for the better part of his life. However, after over a decade of political seclusion, he has decided to step into the fray once more, claiming that â⦠after a while that sort of space allows you to examine who you really are and what you really want. I knew I had to throw off neutrality and get back into the fight.â
When asked about his decision to join the Krath Empire specifically, he praised the state for âstill having fireâ, expressing his opinion that after a while, larger governments âget complacent.â He intends to put his extensive internal knowledge of Imperial structures forward and assist the Holy Krath Legion in matters advisory and, of course, martial. The Krath Imperial Council and Legion High Command have already applauded Mr. Chamberlainâs decision, offering him the position of Martial Consultant. Should he accept, he will report directly to Lord Imperator Kasra, whoâd said his first order of priority would be using Mr. Chamberlainâs extensive knowledge of the Empireâs military to optimize the army structure and battle strategies. Lord Protector Kalzel Gryjiss, the commanding officer of the Qel-Droma United Assembly, also expressed his thrill at the opportunity to âlearn how the Empire clicks from the insiderâs perspectiveâ and that Mr. Chamberlainâs offer of assistance in exchange for employment and citizenship was âthe best deal in the history of deals, maybe ever.â Mr. Chamberlainâs entry into Krath politics has met with mostly positive responses from the public as well. His appearance is regarded to provide a welcome benefit in tandem with the large-scale reforms of the civilian sector, that are to be implemented in the early future, as issued by Emperor Kell and the Imperial Council.
RNN Headquarters, Republica -- While his status cannot be officially confirmed, the New Republic mourns the loss after the likely execution of diplomat Nohayk Haddock at the hands of the wanted Kuga Morguul. New Republic officials have issued a warrant for Morguul's arrest, advise the Galaxy to practice extreme caution, and are seeking further information on this tragic event.
Last week, official reports show that Mr. Haddock, a New Republic Diplomacy Command Secretary, Industrial Automaton Employee, and a Lieutenant in the Military Reserve, had made logistical arrangements with Kuga Morguul on a matter of personal business which would eventually lead to his capture. Initially, New Republic officials were in communication with Morguul to demand the safe release of Mr. Haddock. Despite the New Republic having a policy that refuses negotiations with criminals, the assailant has demanded A-wings for the release. After such demands were denied, it is believed that Morguul proceeded with the execution. Unable to confirm his status at this time, the New Republic has Nohayk Haddock listed as Captured/Hostage. At the time of this release there has been no further communication from either Mr. Haddock or Morguul which has officials fearing the worst.
Current intelligence suggests Kuga Morguul acted on his own in this crime. It has been confirmed that Morguul had joined the Eidola Pirates prior to the incident; however, a spokesmen for Eidola is denying any participation. There are reports surfacing from within the New Republic that suggest that some Advisory Council members are debating what actions may be taken to address this level of alleged participation or rather lack of prevention.
New Republic Intelligence is also asking for any information regarding Morguul and or this situation. Furthermore, information is now suggesting that Morguul is additionally attempting to fraudulently operate and claim that he is a New Republic citizen. Along with the 100,000,000 credit issued for his arrest, the intelligence community is advising extreme caution in all dealings with Morguul.
One thing is for sure, citizens from all around the New Republic are saddened by these events. Despite their sorrow, many citizens remember their time with Mr. Haddock fondly and are uniting in their pursuit of justice. Chief of Military Operations Jin Solas joined the crowds and had this to say, "I have seen Nohayk stand up and fight against difficult odds courageously on the battlefield, to be a shield between our enemies and those he cares for and swore to protect. Without a shred of doubt, I know Nohayk met his end defiantly and without fear, like a true New Republican. The sentient responsible for this act of savagery is a coward, and will be pursued with the full power and resources available to the New Republic in order to be brought to justice." The New Republic offers its condolences to Mr. Haddock's family and friends, and is vowing to bring Kuga Morguul to justice.

Upon notification that Kray Voh, infamous bounty hunter and proprietor of Ever Light Transportation, was scheduled to arrive in Argai to gather an order for an Athakam MedTech customer, the High Council formulated a plan to capture the Yam`rii.
An arrest warrant was approved by a quorum of the sitting High Councillors on Day 75, as agents swarmed the Argai system, home of Athakam MedTech, to secure the system and wait-out the arrival of the acknowledged criminal.
Once the Yam'rii was in custody deliberation over trial and execution occurred, with immediate execution of Kray Voh being voted as the course of justice. Downhearted Tion Hegemony Emboldened by Leadership (Posted by Crislyn Anessa Waryn on Year 17 Day 358)
GTNG -- Kazarak system, Sertar, Tion Cluster
But, in order to accurately report the story of Lady Barefoot’s transition to leader of the Tionese people, we must revisit the previous 60 days of the Tionese year. In the weeks leading up to the Tionese annual Day of Unity celebrations, rumors had begun circulating the worlds under the protection of the Tion Hegemony. Hushed voices in every bar, factory, and homestead could be heard asking the same question: "What has become of Lord Hegemon Asai?"
"Lord Takao Asai was the one who taught me the most about government life and planetary economics. I frankly owe everything to his teachings. I join all of Tion in their grieving for the loss of our leader, as I do for my long-time personal friend. But I can assure you, I will do my absolute utmost to continue to build on the work set upon by my predecessors. I am dedicated to seeing the Hegemony surge forward on a path of unlimited prosperity and unity for all Tionese. Tion will remain a neutral force within the galaxy, a committed member of the Galactic Concordiate, and a never fading beacon for all that is good in this galaxy!"
Following signing of the Desargorr Accord and her first official Hegemonial address, Lady Hegemon Barefoot, joined by her wife and their two children, hurried to Voss III where she welcomed the new head of Tion Engineering and Construction, now-Director Kulton Duine, to his new headquarters, before swiftly returning to Meeshae to hold the first High Council session of her tenure.
Among the most influential changes within the Tionese leadership was the naming of former Tion Military and Science Industries President, Abraari To as Chancellor. Sir To was succeeded at TMSI by long-time acting Vice President Stig`ray Morvo. In addition, former First Fleet Admiral William Radcliff was appointed Hyperion, Minister of Defense, his successor in First Fleet to be named early in the new year.
